howaya?
Fitzwilliam Square and Merrion Square is all Georgian buildings and a beautifully maintained park from the days when Dublin was the second city of the empire. You've got the national gallery, museum and the dead zoo (natural history museum) there as well and you're only a stones throw from the less touristy bit of Trinity College.
There's a porterhouse not far from there either where you can try their micro-brewery beers although I recommend a walk along the canal from 'The Schoolhouse' bar (nice pannini's) up to Portabello for a really good pint of Arthur's Black Nectar. The film 'Nora' about James Joyce's missus was filmed along the canal and I once saw Ewan MacGregor there during filming. It's also instrumental in Ulysses and other Dublin literature.
I could go on - gaz me if you like.
