The LHCsounds like enormous fun to me. After all, the media doesn't do enough to stir the public into an impotent panicky frenzy these days.
Edit: I've just noticed I still have a 6 year old photo of myself in my profile. Perhaps I ought to update it to show the fat, hairy old bastard I've become.
