Weasel,You'd be exactly right, I did that for most of my time at uni.
Unless you're on a tiny budget, get the stuff that's around a tenner a bottle, the stuff you can pick up for six pounds is gut-rot.
See what's on offer.
If you can get it cheap enough, I'd recommend Absolut, Finlandia or Russian Standard.
If not, Vladivar isn't bad.
