It's just so soul destroying to see someone going round in the same circles over and over... he's a great bloke with so much going for him but he hates himself, and me trying to persuade him that he is mentally ill is a delicate operation.

I used to be in the Samaritans yunno. Not as a listener though, was still too fucked up myself. "Hello Samaritans" "hello, I'm suicidal/having a nervous breakdown/lost my job/split up with partner/cat just died" ... "oh god I know how you feel" *wails*
