Couldn't you do something subtle to it?If it were me, I'd have it in bits and whip out a resistor or something so it didn't work. Or worked really badly so that it had to be thrown out.
If a new one appeared, then repeat. Then I'd suggest that there's something wrong with the electrics which keeps on blowing the radios.
