A Priusis only going to give you better consumption in stop-start town traffic. On the open road, you're better with a normal car, because it's lighter and more efficient.
Edit - FWIW, I had a hired Ka once when my car was off the road for a bit, and hated it. It was slow, had no room in it, jumped around scarily on corners and burned more fuel than my own much bigger diesel motor.
But I did discover it could do 55mph in 2nd gear before the limiter cut in...
