But you're right. It's not exactly rocket science to boil a couple of tatties for 20 minutes and mash them up. The 15 minutes you save by boiling the kettle and mixing up the vile concoction that purports to be potato-based is not worth it!
Smash is minging. At least it was in the 1970s, when I last had it.
