Ahh, but define a 'supercar'. Are we talking something light and extremely quick with a frankly daft power to weight ratio (Lotus?) or something big & fat with a BFO engine and power to burn such as, well, anything built by AMG? Or Aston?
The DSG idea looks technically good, but the 'trade' side of can see the look of bowel-loosening terror when a service receptionist hands over the bill for clutch replacement a few years down the line.
R/duck: the whole clutch thing is why the 8 series never sold back in the day, except to people who'd never driven one.
And when the M Class was facelifted in 2000, the diesel fitted to the manual was de-tuned as there was a good chance of it going 'snap'. The auto would take anything - in fact GMP returned a ML320 with the only duffed autobox we'd ever seen and then sheepishly admitted they'd pulled a HGV tractor unit off the M56 with it....
Anyway, I like auto as I'm lazy, with a manual over-ride of some type for those vanishingly small moments when you can do the vroomy thing.
