Hmm, looks like I'll have to drive one of these beasts at some time!

I've never yet enjoyed driving any car with an auto gearbox, although to be fair, the majority have been American hire cars, so that's enough to bias anyone against the auto box! But even the 4.6l Ford V8 found it necessary to change down a gear to keep a constant 70mph on a motorway hill. OK, it required no action on my part as it was on cruise control, but that sort of thing just annoys me! My 2.2l turbodiesel can keep going up hills in 6th gear no bother, without a hint of labouring the engine.
