I'd be interested to know where you were surfing. Most people with an ounce of common sense who have surfed before are aware of the 'etiquette' of the wave. There's no way he should have been walking out in your path.

If you ask me, he deserved a board in the face for being rude.

Have you ever tried Croyde? The people there tend to be really very nice. Not full of 'scene' surfers who paddle out back, sit there for 2 hours, and paddle back in again (a practice I have seen too many times in holes like Newquay), just people who wanna surf!
