@AlYes, except for the fact that you're likely to get it all over the slabs, and it's a bugger to get off.
And seeing as the grout's not doing anything structural as such, it doesn't need to be particularly strong. But in cool damp weather it'll pick up and retain enough moisture from the ground to set nicely anyway.
