@ancrenneNo, using a laser is not the best way to cook food. A microwave oven is far better. The longer wavelength of the latter means in general that the absorption coefficient is much lower and so the radiation is absorbed more uniformly than laser light would be.
A laser would char the surface extremely quickly and leave the inside uncooked.
A microwave doesn't cook from the inside out, but the temperature difference between the inside and outside is much less than when using infra red heating (i.e. grilling).
