Deer like booze.Most animals do, actually.
A guy in the area where I used to live would poach geese by soaking a bushel of corn in cheap whiskey and spreading it out on the frozen lake. They'd eat it, get hammered and be unable to escape as he went through and grabbed the ones he wanted.
The deer up there are extremely tame- I can often go up to one and rub it behind the ears. They have very coarse fur, like a donkey.
