Yup, very coarse.Most animal fur is rough to the touch. Horses have fairly soft fur for something that big, but it's still scratchy. Bears have fur like a hairbrush. Deer have fur like a layer of dry pine needles. Chipmunks have fur about as coarse as a horse's.
Squirrels, on the other hand, are quite soft, almost like a rabbit.
