I have a friend
who has the same feeling about his subconscious.

He's freaked out by the idea that there is a whole person inside you who reacts to things, like when someone throws something at you unexpectedly and you catch it before your conscious mind knows what's going on, or when your hand pulls away from something hot. He says it's like sharing your body with a secret person who has a compulsive disorder.
