How does this work?
Both mine and the missus' cars have been off the road recently, mine terminally.
To help us out, her folks kindly let us borrow their old VW Passat Estate thing while they went away to Portugal for a few weeks so that we had one set of wheels while Mrs Monkey's car was getting repaired.
Unfortunately, Mrs Monkey had a bit of an accident. Our road is pretty narrow, meaning that to get out in the morning, you have to reverse up it until you hit a wider bit to turn round. The missus did this thinking she was in her own car, not the 2ft longer at the back VW and promptly caved in the rear windscreen by reversing into a road sign.
We thought we could get it sorted out ourselves before they got back and let them know then. Unfortunately, after finding out that a rear windscreen costs around £500 to get fitted, we realsied we couldn't afford it.
So how come I'm the one that has to ring the dominieering and frankly scary MIL to ask them if they have glass cover?
She's going to eat me alive and it wasn't even my fault!
