The only time I wonI neither redrafted nor edited. The thoughts poured out of my brain and onto the keyboard. It was quite an emotional post, so I guess the rawness of it was effectively conveyed.
Having said that, I'd rather have won a QOTW with a post I'd worked at or with a side-splitting funny.

As for drinking and writing, the two don't mix. You'll end up writing reams and reams of stuff, but it rarely makes for coherent prose.
