further to a thread about beards further down
from beards.org:

"...the male beard communicates an heroic image of the independent, sturdy, and resourceful pioneer, ready, willing and able to do manly things...In conclusion, it may very well be true that inside every clean-shaven man there is a beard screaming to be let out. If so, the results of the present study provide a strong rationale for indulging that demand."

this is awesome. and true.

Hmm...
*rubs ten-day stubble*

But the girls... most don't like them eh?

I'm not gonna shave every day for someone. Love me, love my beardy ways.

my thoughts too
and if a girl doesn't like a beard then she's not the one for me!

I started growing mine as soon as I split up with my ex, and have been bearded since then.

fortunately Mrs V likes it. except when I make myself look like a conquistador.

mentioned it at band practice last night. The guys all thought it was awesome. the girls, not so much.

Is it like
Charley Boorman's musketeer job?

similar
hasn't got the gaps though

basically I've made the goatee fairly pointy and grown the ends of the moustache a bit longer and curled them up and out.

Beards have so many good sides
You're warmer in the winter
You save money on expensive razors
You can make yourself look younger if you shave it off. I'm convinced that wet shaving makes you look old before your time through scraping layers of skin off your face on a daily basis.
It's something to stroke whilst pondering.
Makes you look like a man.

My tache
doesn't grow like that unfortunately. And I've got gaps at the corners of my mouth so my goatee goes a bit crap.

There was a brilliant link in the newsletter a few weeks back where a guy was trying loads of beard styles... I'll see if I can dig it out.

pinky
you are right

the bare bones of the matter are that I look better with a beard than without

I've inspired at least two other people to grow beards like mine as well. I feel like I've made a difference.

Downside to having a beard
I no longer have a name, it's always 'that man in the beard'.

Go on No3l badge it.

This has to be one of my favourite websites

Albert Schmid looks like Charles Bronson - the criminal not the actor.

(, Fri 24 Oct 2008, 12:50, Reply)
where there's talk of beards
lusty is sure to appear

and might I just say, I looked at spakka's bash photos this morning. Lusty = a hottie.

@Vipros
well thank you. Though, I'm sure it was a little bit more Lusty = very drunk and crazy eyed.

I think I might just stay here a bit longer and enjoy the beardy goodness.

EDIT: I know this is a bit cheeky, but if someone loves me enough could I possibly have a beard lovers badge?

Thankyou
I am currently at my most beardy ever, about 2 weeks in and was having a hard time deciding if it should go or not.

Thanks to you guys it's staying.

I might let B3ta make all my decisions for me, I can't see any way that would go bad.......

I've always been a fan of men in beards.
I even married 2 beards...(erm men with beards). They look good and create all kinds of special goodness in the bedroom that a shaved face can't do.

May your beards live long happy lives gentlemen!

I salute you madam!

And Lusty... I'll knock you a badge up too.
