Some good points on both sides of the argumentleaving aside the facts of this particular case however, I'm strongly of the view that sentances for a crime should be a deterrent first, and a punishment and/or a chance of rehabilitation* second
(*not the word I'm looking for, but close enough. the one I want eludes me for the moment)
whether deterrents would ever work, even with the death penalty reinstated is a matter for some debate....
