@k2k6 - yes, paying a booking fee for the privilege of buying your tickets online is a pain in the arse. but the venue and/or promoter will have to pay for the privilege of selling said tickets, and it depends on the website whether they pay a flat fee or, a percentage per transaction. it may also depend on the contract between the venue and the artist/manager, since they might be on a percentage or a guarantee. bigger names will be on a guarantee AND a percentage of the box office takings i.e. the venue will not make much money out of it, so they have to maximise their profit in any way they can.
