Go up to Covent Garden
There's muchfun in the form of random ladies warbling and random gentlemen juggling their balls (always grabs the attention) with plenty of other interesting things to look at.

The best bit though is that, as long as there isn't a performance on at the time, you can go up to the amphitheatre bar of the Royal Opera House. There's a big long balcony and you can look out over the whole of the West End, for free, which is rather wonderful.

Oh, and if you get hungry, go to Hung's (formerly Crispy Duck) on Wardour Street, just up from Leicester Square and next to the Pizza Express. By God it looks dodgy from the outside (and it's not that much better on the inside) but you've never truly experienced pork until you've been there. As it were.
