The northern quarteris nice, I've been looking at flats there. Ancoats is a little bit rough but a lot of the flats in the NQ are more central, just past Piccadilly gardens or Shudehill interchange.
Worsley Mill is in Castlefield, nice area prett much in the centre, and is quirky, it has exposed brickwork and massive ceilings, looks really nice.

If you can hold of the MEN on a Thursday, it has a pretty comprehensive pull-out section on city centre flats and apartments, I'd be happy to get a copy and send it to you if you couldn't get hold of one.
