I'm in a shite job and really need to get out before I properly lose the plot...
Does anyone know any particularly good job search sites for jobs in Manchester, west yorks or Cheshire?
I'm on Monster, reed and totaljobs.
Cheers

It's all recruitment agencies in disguise. Get your local newspaper and apply for anything you find in there, it's far more productive.

is a recruitment agent in stockport, covers all of manchester and cheshire i think. what sort of work do you do and i could pass your details onto her or vice versa?

If you do get one, make sure you phone the bastards every day. They like keen candidates.
Keep looking is the best advice... It takes time to find a new job - especially during this time of year.
Good luck.

work in telecoms but I'd really like ot move into a training role. I've done a range of stuff in the telecoms sector including fault repair and some product development stuff.
I've also done some teaching too, not sure if that would be any help

jobs.ac.uk is good,
You've got to really hate your job to want to move now though; I reckon things are going to get terrible after Christmas.

Ive had a crack at getting into training before - you HAVE to have a qualification or at least be pursuing one, otherwise they will merely placate you.

then you might be employable.
Or suicide.

you happen to do something like washing machine or dishwasher repairs, apparently businesses like that have gone through the roof with orders.

There's always going to be a demand for certain industries.
Then you've got to wonder how many recently unemployed people have the same ideas and then you've got to compete with them.
^Does that make sense?

there's about 500,000 jobs in total, across every industry, and about 2,500,000 unemployed and rising. that's a lot of competition, even if you weed out the unwashed and unemployable!

I think the job title is assistant data analyst. Pay's not great (less than 20k) and they'll basically be doing all the simple boring shit we don't want to do.
We've had over 100 applicants with degrees.

that's quite depressing. makes you think, this huge push to get every young person to university - frankly some of them would be better training at 18 as a spark or a plumber, they'll always have good work, and maybe their own business before the age of 30.

although the number of applicant's is a bit artificially high because it's for the NHS, and it's a data analyst job and no banks are hireing people for that at the moment.
