A friend of minehas had a few bits on Radio 4 - she started out on 'Home Truths' sadly that no longer exists....
I'd listen to Radio 4 if I were you - they have short stories and plays on during the afternoon quite often. Get to know which companies/producers are being used regularly and then google them. That way you can attack on two fronts - contacting the BBC direct and also contacting the independent companies and offering your services.
