We close downfor seven working days over Christmas and New Year here, but our other holidays can be taken whenever we like. Which pleases me.
Traditionally of course, Scotland regarded Christmas day as a normal working day. Apparently the Presbyterian church could find no biblical reason to celebrate the birth of their main protagonist.
