re: sarcasm @ PJMI remember reading how Robert Webb (the normal-looking one off of Peep Show) was once faced with a gaggle of teenagers when he tried to exit his tube train.
As he stood at the single end-door of the carriage, they tried to squeeze past him before he could disembark but he stood firm until the one in front looked up at him. He sighed loudly, then uttered the phrase
"we're going to have to do better than this"
Suitably accosted, the crowd parted like the red sea and he walked off the train.
