Police
My work aside, the only time I've had cause to speak to a policeman was when some scally kid punched me in the face whilst I was walking to uni. The kid was the youngest of the pack of eight or so kids, ranging from 12-16, and as soon as he punched me (weak, even for a 12 yr old) they started throwing stones at me.

I noticed that I was directly under a CCTV camera, so popped into the local station and reported the assault. The cop said "What do you want me to do about it?" in a tone that was neither sympathetic nor helpful in any way.

Of course, nothing got done, the camera allegedly had no film in it (or the cop couldn't be bothered to check), and I had to explain my slightly red cheek and lateness to a lecture down to being assaulted by a preteen.

Of course, if I'd punched the kid back it would have been a different story...
