How do you make pages landscape instead of portrait in word? I know it's fully possible, but buggered if I can remember how.

Like this:
Go to file menu and then page setup- there should be 2 nice clicky boxes for landscape and portrait.

if you want some of each
you need to insert section breaks either side of the pages you want different, put the blinking cursor on that page and then follow the above instructions making sure it says This section only
