It's because I've hardly been here, and nobody is rousing B3ta-ness. There has been a lack of funny for about a week, but even when I wasn't here last week (or the week before?) there were some pretty good posts, there was a nice mix.
It's all just peaks and troughs, it takes somebody interesting to post something interesting to get a good response.
