Dunno if this will help but...
I get guys chatting me up while I'm in work sometimes and to be honest it actually makes me kinda uncomfortable. I'm trying to do my job and having random customers telling me how pretty I am just makes me feel really weird.
Obviously I don't know this girl or what she's like so she could be totally different to me..
But if there's like a pub or something you like going to you could hint how it's like "really good on Friday nights, you should go! If you do maybe I'll buy you a drink"
It isn't so forward as to make her uncomfortable if she's a bit shy but then if she is attracted to you she will find a reason to go there, whether you have exchanged numbers or not. Plus if she doesn't go, you can pretend it's because she was busy and not because you're rubbish :)
