My guess would be that the person in the wrong made a big deal to the HQ people and they are covering their asses by having the disciplinary meeting in the first place. OR, the person in the wrong did something bad enough to take the disciplinary action further than your boss, hence the meeting to get the facts.
Either way, I agree with the others, just tell the truth and stick to it. You've already written out the truth, perhaps they are too important to read and feel you should take time out of your day to read it to them. (Or they want to hear your version in person so they can ask any questions they have)
But sucking off the director never hurts....could be a promotion in it for you.
