...I can categorically say it's not the catalytic converter, mainly because the car doesn't have one. It's a bit of an old banger but it serves him well.

That fact in itself surprises me. In the car park at my apartments there are far more valuable targets for such a surreal prank than t'other half's auld Honda, especially the BMW tank owned by one neigbour that apparently cost enough so that parking it properly is unnecesarry. I almost ended up on the bonnet of the thing coming home on my bike one day because it was a full three feet out of the parking-bay-of-the-day that the fuckwit had selected. If I was a nutter with a bagful of someone's hair, I'd have gone for that one :)

EDIT: And before anyone starts up with '...but you/he MUST have a catty con - it's the LAAAAAAAW!' Fact is, only models registered after late 1992 have to have one by law. Yup, it's that old.
