LOADS of things
1) The Free Festival season - a great festival with bands and a great vibe, thrillingly 'outlaw' when you're a middle class sixteen year old - pretty much every weekend of the summer, for NOTHING
2) The ability to take industrial quantities of LSD without a care in the world
3) The feeling that life was all to come and the associated freedom and lack of responsibility
4) The safety net of the parental home (still kind of there for me now but somewhat lame to need at 35, not that I've had to yet, but this year could be the one)
5) The blissful ignorance of bill paying and the real cost of living
6) The blissful ignorance of just how horrible some people are
7) In those days my mum wasn't a lesbian (actually I genuinely don't really mind that), my sister wasn't HIV positive (I really fucking DO mind that) and I wasn't wrestling on a daily basis with the most hateful and cruel woman I've ever met, the mother of my kid.

Christ I'm depressed.
