Why the fuck would they ask stuff like that? It doesn't make sense.

My first interview was a bit like that.

21 years old, green as cabbage, absolutely bricking myself when some chap phones me about my application.

"It's not an interview" he tells me

5 mins later he's asking me his best HR questions, which I stuttered over.

Then moves on to "So, coldfusion...ever used it? What would you do the first time you use it?"

"Err, leaf through the manuals and play around with it", which I thought a perfectly good, if poorly delivered answer. He didn't sound convinced.

Then moves on to "Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?"

Whilst I'm working out what the fuck to say, in between thinking "What the fuck. This isn't an interview. He told me it's not an interview." he then suddenly tells me "Oh, hang on, there's someone on the other line, I'll have to call you back".

He never did.

Best job I never got. Web design place in Arundel. I hope they've gone bust. Cold Fusion, ffs.
