Well then...I went out this afternoon and consulted with the guys at a welding supply shop, and ended up getting some silver solder to put together the frames for my next big project. So instead of welding brass to brass, I'll be soldering them together with high temperature solder which won't pop apart if I solder other things in there with lead solder.
I'll post pics when I have them.
