Hi PJM

Sorry to disappoint you, but I had the exact opposite journey to work today. My 35 mile drive is mainly on a certain single-carriage A-road, but as we near my town of work, there's traffic lights and a roundabout at which point I turn left for five miles or so on a dual carriageway, before exiting again for the last few miles to where I park (sorry for the detail, but it's important).

So, this morning, as I inched towards the first roundabout, I happened to catch the eye of the young lady in the car in front. She was fiddling with her hair, but when she caught my eye, she held it a bit longer than necessary. The lights changed, we moved off and both headed onto the dual carriageway. As she had some crappy little motor, I pulled in front and settled down to an easy 65mph behind a white van. After a bit, I noticed that she was behind me and gradually overtook, pulling in front of the white van. We neared my exit and I saw her indicate left too, so I was behind her again. Now, this exit leads one way into the centre of town, the other to the big 6th form/tech college on the outskirts. My route passes the college and I was pretty sure that was where she was heading. In rush hour, this little bit of road is very slow and we inched along for about ten minutes.

During that time, she tried to stare me out. I caught her eye again and this time she held my gaze for about ten seconds, I suppose, before I have to admit, I gave in and glanced down. The rest of the time she played with her hair, glanced in the rear-view mirror and kept an eye on the traffic. She turned in at the college and I waved good-bye.

It wasn't that she was a stunner or anything, and she was young enough to be my daughter, and she was probably just having a laugh and testing out her womanly powers on some poor sap of a commuter, but it cheered me up and left me with a bit of a warm feeling.

I parked up, walked through the park with Feist on the iPod and bounded up the stairs to work.

Sorry about your journey though.
