TugnutGREAT list there mate - some I clean forgot.
The appeal of the Pixies completely mystifies me. Call me shallow but part of the appeal to me of rock bands is some form of coolness: something fat, whiny-voiced helmet Frank Black just does not have.
I know I should like them, but I also think Sonic Youth are overrated. They're alright, but a bit *shrug* if you ask me. I also don't like the Velvet Underground half as much as I'm meant to.
as for Lou Reed's solo stuff - fuck me he's shit.
