I'd say knives and knuckle (or tentacle) dusters would be fine, but guns would be a no-no...

If you're bringing weaopns into it...
Kong's opposable thumbs are going to really give him an advantage. I've seen squids take the lids off jam jars, but that's not going to be much help.

Unless he could get a King Kong-sized jam jar...
