The guy who wrote it is a highly qualified veterinarianand I'm guessing it's his own practice. I summarised my cv in the cover letter and then expanded upon it in bullet format in the cv. That's what cover letters are for no?

a cover letter is to explain why you want and deserve the joband to expand upon relevant parts of your CV so as not to make the CV 4 million pages long.
