MehMinor claim to infamy: I've a friend who's a Saffer and when living and working abroad I was a guest for dinner. Jimmy, having heard my Saffrican accent, suggested that I spoke to his partner (Francie) using it and see how long it took her to realise.
35 minutes, and then only because I coughed and dropped the accent.
She was, apparently, convinced, that I was from Cape Town. Odd.
