had a tooth extracted (back molar). Sitting at my desk at work biting on gauze where my tooth used to be.

Yep
it's quite nice as I have a reason not to talk (because I cant). I also feel a bit like Edward Norton in "Fight Club", I might start giving bloody grins at people.
