I suppose the idea is thatas Monty says, the degree should open doors and create opportunities for you to earn a large amount of money, though a certain amount of soul-selling may be necessary depending on how much you want to earn.
Of course, the balance is always skewed by jobs which require minimal qualifications and yet still pay a small fortune from the word go. *cough*TubeDrivers*cough*

I applied to be a station cleaner a few years agoand didn't get an interview because I was over qualified. That's a 30k job ffs.
