Whoa there,
I don't want sex with you.
I'm just proving my awesome knowledge.
Different stuff, I know, but I still massively prefer Ovid to Aristophanes.

Ovid has had far more lasting influence upon Western literature
than Aristophanes - mainly because Ovid was drawing upon existing myths and legends whereas Aristophanes was writing contemporary satire.

I think I'd better go back to work now, I could be on a roll

Then again, Aristophanes contributed to the death of Socrates
That was a pretty big deal.

(he was writing shit like the Clouds when Soccy was still alive; most of the charges to do with corrupting the youth were heavily influenced by his satire)
(I think)

I know I know I know :P
Hence me saying "I must not have sex with you in the LOACG position" ^_^ Anyway, I prefer my men with a pulse (even if I like 'em pale)

Ovid's quite fun. Haven't done much, only unseen translation, but he's not bad.
Love the description of Famine in 7/8, gives me the right willies it does.
