Some of you may have relatives in the forces, even in Afghanistan, but all of you will be aware of the fact that we have troops out there dying and being dreadfully injured almost daily.
Whatever your feeling about the rights and wrongs of this conflict I'm sure that you will agree with me that in that sort of situation small things mean a great deal.
A friend of mine has a nephew out there as we speak and was surprised to find out from him that things we take for granted are not available easily, things like Paracetamol, Plasters, insect bite relief, sun block/high factor suncreams, and also the little niceties of life like sweets, deodorant, shampoo and shower gels.
Now I don't now about you but I find this fucking appalling, not but not terribly surprising
On another forum I use, we have decided to try and do our bit, we are getting together shoe boxes filled with little bits and pieces, and I wondered if there were any people over here that might feel like doing the same.
