They always had adverts at the start that you couldn't skip and one in the middle if it was an hour longdidn't used to have more than that though. Is it more like regular television now?

Yes - adverts at the start, and an advert at every ad breakThis is true of "Teachers" at least, which is an hour show. I don't know about anything else.
Maybe I only used to watch half-hour stuff in the past. Who knows?
