a few recommendations for N'awlins
Jean Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop - a terrific bar at the outer edge of The Quarter. Walk down Bourbon St., until you see a building that looks on the point of collapse. Best visited during the day.

Napoleon House - Chartres Street at Royal, near the courthouse. Good food and drink; amazing history.

Felix's Oyster Bar - on Iberville, right off of Canal.

Central Grocery - Decatur St. Try a mufuletta sandwich, it's like everything good in the world placed between bread. (Be warned to order it as a half or quarter sandwich if you're on your own. Enormous.)

Coop's Place - just down the road from Central Grocery, on Decatur. A great bar, any time of day or night. They never close. Pool table.

If you've the time, try to make it out to the Garden District for some sight-seeing. St. Charles streetcar, Canal St. and Carondelet.

New Orleans is excellent. Have fun!
