Next weekit will be 17 years to the day my mother told me she had stage IV cancer. To her enormous credit, she lived for nearly 2 more years, and insisted I continue with my insane plan to embark on a massive motorbike tour of Europe and the Middle East. She was strong and adventurous, more than I'll ever be. I managed to get back to the States to spend time with her before she passed. Well worth it.
This anniversary is always a tough one. We rarely saw eye-to-eye, but I miss her like hell.
