How long have you lived in California?
Jack In The Box is superb! They do pancakes and stuff for breakfast.

I can't profess to be an expert but the best breakfast you'll ever get in SoCal - certainly the best breakfast I'VE ever got in SoCal - is at Felipes in Downtown LA.

And I'll be back there again next year and slobber is already drooling from my uncouth lips.

Been here 10 years
but never considered Jack in the Crack for breakfast! This morning I just tried it and their extreme sausage sandwhich was excellent.
I'm in Orange County, so rarely go up to LA.

When we're in the US
We work on the principle that we're NOT going to do something we can do at home.

That's how we discovered Jack In The Box - they're mainly in the South Western states I think.

Have you tried
In-N-Out Burger yet? They are THE best burger on the West Coast, I highly recommend it!

No
But the name rather puts me off.

Does the in 'n out bit refer to the patrons or the food?

The patrons
It's what a hamburger's, all about!/

Even during quiet hours, there's usually a line of 5 or more cars. The staff are all hired from local community colleges, must have a grade B average and get paid $10 an hour to start.
