I've just got a new phone, with the internets and everyfink
it's got the official orange firmware installed, and has certain features missing. does anybody know if installing the generic firmware would have any negative effects?

mini.opera.com

Won't help with your firmware but it'll help your browsing.

Cheers, downloaded it but the built in browser supports multiple tabs

I'll need to meet a real life woman, first.
One that won't take out a restraining order, too.

That's something to keep hold of until you get water damage.

Opera Mini 5 Beta supports multiple tabs
You can download it from the Opera site. It's improved my quality of life...

Re-flashing to the original
OS shouldn't be an issue. However, it will invalidate your warranty with Orange. Go to www.xda-developers.com/forums or www.mobilitysite.com on info how to do it.
