The Crooked Jades
Best band i've heard since in 10 years, easily. After hearing just one song on Andy Kershaw and falling in love with it, the stars aligned and they were actually touring the UK just a few weeks later. With schoolboy levels of joy, i attended their first ever gig on Scotland. They had only been playing for 30 seconds and I knew I was privvy to something very special indeed.

Coming from a largely electronica based gig experiences I was stunned and cowed by these banjo worrying, fiddle sawing, mandolin stroking artisans. Complexity that would make Venetian Snares cower and melodies that could bring a tear to a glass eye.

I'm on a mission to spread the word far and wide, so here is a track, the first i ever heard, from an album called "World's on Fire"
